Pray for the saints in Charleston, SC
Let’s keep the saints in prayer of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC. As some of you may know by now, a 21 year old white male attended the Bible Study of Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church for one hour before opening fire on the congregation. According to CNN,
“Dylann Roof heard words of forgiveness from families of some of the nine people he’s accused of killing.”
President Obama tweeted to the remarkable act of kindness displayed by these families:
“In the midst of darkest tragedy, the decency and goodness of the American people shines through in these families.”
It is time for the saints of God to go in prayer for the Body of Christ. This is not the time to be fearful. The Bible says in 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. We must utilize the power that God has given to us in this hour. The Apostle Paul told us in 2 Corinthians 10:4 (KJV) 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;). Jesus told Peter in Matthew 16:18-19 (NKJV) 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”
It is time for the Body of Christ to pull together in prayer. We solicit the prayers of the righteous to add this to your prayer list. James told us in James 5:16 (NKJV) 16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed.
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much!
